The Rajabhat university for the town and province of Surat Thani is found approximately eight kms to the south east of the town, on a main road. The university was founded in 1992, and includes the faculties of education, science and technology, management, humanities, and tourism. The university includes a graduate school, which has Masters level programs.
It is a sizeable and well maintained campus, I would estimate 10,000 students.
The date given for the founding of the University is 1992. I suspect that the campus was used prior to this as a Teachers College, which subsequently became a university.
